The best match of cricket in January 2013
The new year 2013 begun as it was expected for the ecstasy of cricket. In January, we saw so many beautiful all-round performances, upsets, big safe points and countless fluctuations in the teams’ favoritism. It was hard to pick the best match of cricket but in 2nd week, one of the most cunning behaviors happened that created major confusing and thrilling moments.
Rajkot Cricket Stadium, Indian new venue for cricket made its International debut on 11th January when the first ODI match between India and England was placed over there. England led by Captain Cook decided to bat and posted a massive target of 326 runs against favorites. They became a favorite team after first innings.
Indian’s furious reply made them favorites in the preliminary power-play of 2nd innings, and after the torture started which captured the heavy interest and led fans to the last over of the match. The match went on with high intensity along with turn by turn fluctuations in the behavior of favoritism.
Match produced five half centuries while four batsmen out in forties. Indian’s chase finished on 316/9 although once they required 14 runs from 5 balls. England remarkably won by 9 runs, and despite more than 600 runs were scored, the English off-spinner James Tredwell was given man of the match award for his 4 wickets.
There were plenty of exciting matches to remind in January 2013. Whether there were thrilling finishes in BPL 2 and BBL 2 or the upsets in ODI series SA v NZ and in T20I series Aus v SL but out of 54 matches including all formats of International cricket and T20 Leagues, the 1st ODI Ind v Eng proved to be the best match of cricket that was viewed with the most high rated suspense, nervousness and drama.
